Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how CastBank collects, uses, and protects your personal information. By creating an account or using our Platform, you agree to the terms described herein.

Our Commitment: We Do Not Sell Your Data

CastBank does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for their marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes — ever. Your data is used solely to operate and improve the CastBank platform for you.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, build your profile, or use our services:

  • Account information: First name, last name, email address, and authentication credentials
  • Profile information: Headshots, demo reels, physical measurements, skills, experience, and bio
  • Payment information: Billing details processed and stored by Stripe (we do not store card numbers)
  • Banking information: Bank account details for payroll, processed via Stripe Financial Connections (we store only account identifiers)
  • Communications: Messages sent through the Platform between users
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the CastBank platform
  • Connect talent and crew with producers for casting opportunities
  • Process subscription payments and booking deposits
  • Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, vouchers, notifications)
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Send platform updates and feature announcements (you may opt out at any time)

3. Information Sharing & No-Sale Policy

CastBank does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for their marketing or commercial purposes — ever.

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With producers: Your public profile information (headshots, bio, skills) is visible to producers when you apply to casting calls or are added to talent pools
  • With talent/crew: Producers' company profiles and job postings are visible to registered talent and crew
  • Service providers: Stripe (payments), Stripe Financial Connections (banking), AWS S3 (file storage), and analytics providers who process data strictly on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of CastBank and its users

4. Profile Visibility

Your profile on CastBank is visible to other registered users as follows:

  • Talent and crew profiles are searchable by producers within the Platform
  • Public profile pages (accessible via direct link) display your name, headshot, role type, and selected portfolio items
  • Sensitive information (email, phone, banking details) is never displayed publicly
  • You can control your profile visibility from your account settings

5. Data Security, Breach Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
  • Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI DSS compliant)
  • Banking data is handled exclusively by Stripe Financial Connections
  • Files are stored in encrypted cloud storage buckets
  • Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • Regular security audits and monitoring are performed on our systems

Data Breach Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

While CastBank employs commercially reasonable security practices and works diligently to protect your personal information, no internet-connected system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Data breaches, unauthorized access, or cyberattacks may occur despite our best efforts and may be beyond our reasonable control — including but not limited to acts of third-party hackers, zero-day software vulnerabilities, or infrastructure failures at our cloud hosting providers.

By creating an account and using CastBank, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • CastBank's liability for any data breach, unauthorized access, or loss of personal information resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
  • You waive the right to bring or participate in any class action lawsuit, collective action, or individual civil action against CastBank, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, or affiliates arising from or related to a data security incident that is caused by factors outside CastBank's direct control.
  • In the event of a confirmed data breach, CastBank's obligations shall be limited to: (a) notifying affected users as required by applicable law; (b) taking commercially reasonable steps to contain and remediate the breach; and (c) cooperating with relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Any legal claim arising from a data security incident must be brought within one (1) year of the date you knew or reasonably should have known of the incident, after which the claim is permanently waived.
  • CastBank shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages arising from a data security incident beyond our reasonable control.

We take every reasonable precaution to prevent breaches and are committed to full transparency. In the event of a security incident, we will notify affected users promptly, communicate what data was involved, and detail the steps we are taking to address it. We work hard every day to ensure your data stays safe.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention or dispute resolution).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format

8. Cookies

CastBank uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze Platform usage. We use session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (remain until deleted or expired). You can control cookie settings through your browser, but disabling cookies may affect Platform functionality.

9. Children's Privacy

CastBank is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will promptly delete their information and account.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
